Run, Kick and Score!

The striker dribbles to the goal box, he kicks, the goalkeeper dives, but he scores! “Goal!” the crowd cheers. In a few weeks, this will be the scene at Lawrence Junior High School and all over the valley as the soccer season will begin for middle school. A few friends and I went around the school asking students if they’re looking forward to the season and if they are interested in even trying out. Here are some of the responses that I received from the students of Lawrence Junior High School.
Q: What do you think of soccer?
A: I think it's a pretty cool sport- Chris, 8th grade
Q: What are you looking forward to this season?
A: Hopefully, Playing for the school and representing it- Lemar, 8th grade
Q: How long have you been playing soccer?
A: Ever since I was 5 years old- Nery, 8th grade
Q: Who is your favorite player?
A: Cristiano Ronaldo. - 8th graders
Q: What made you decide to try out for the soccer team?
It was my first sport - Christopher, 8th grade
Q: Do you play soccer outside of school?
A: Yes, just not for a team.- Nery, 8th grade
Each and every one of the students we asked were very excited about this upcoming soccer season, including myself. Lawrence has had a great year for sports so far and we can not wait to see what this our
school has to offer in terms of soccer. Will you be going to a soccer game, or better yet, playing in one?
