Greetings, I am Stephanie, opinion editor. I enjoy writing, especially with my pal Hannah, in which our stories end up quite interesting. Communication Arts is one of my favorite subjects, because I love to read, along with writing. In my free time, I run for multiple miles. I love to run; I am on the cross country team, which acquires all of my free time. I also play basketball and soccer; both I play on teams outside school, and on the school team. I have my permit already, and haven’t driven on the highway, or anywhere that isn’t secluded… yet. I play the flute and piano; but I learned how to play the flute over the summer, which makes this my first year of band. I encourage you to continue reading the LJHS Newspaper!

With the school year wrapping up, LJH is preparing for a lot of changes. Many celebrations will be going on for after school activities and your grades throughout the year. While cold hard facts are lacking in most “conspiracy theories” of the Denver Airport, they seem to have a lot of irrelevant “scary” information on this airport. For example, there’s a horse with red eyes at the entrance, which can be interpreted as frightening. The murals themselves... (more...)

Now that the year is flashing by, the tests are coming. First the 8th graders must succumb to the wrath of the malicious MAP testing. Student Council members are the creators of the ice cream socials that recognize Students of the Month for each team, they sold suckers for Special Olympics, and sponsored the Polar Bear Plunge; they were also in charge of adopt a family. In the Tuscan Sea, near Italy, a cruise ship recently crashed on January 13th, 2012. The big news, though, is that 23 passengers are still missing. It’s now the “official grading scale” for LJHS. The teachers are required to use it;the students are required to earn it. 6 students outshined the rest of LJHS on 9A this month. The 3 boys were Brett Wiley, Jacob Taber, and Roger Martinez-Sancho. The girls are Kristin Lonsdale, Katie Declue, and Trisha Elliott. The Eagles held their Alice in Wonderland themed homecoming dance October 8th. The floors were shaking from dancing teenagers and blaring music.
