6 students outshined the rest of LJHS on 9A this month. The 3 boys were Brett Wiley, Jacob Taber, and Roger Martinez-Sancho. The girls are Kristin Lonsdale, Katie Declue, and Trisha Elliott. Congratulations to these students for being students of the month!

Their reward was on Friday October 21st, at 1:20 which was in 6th hour. Certificates were handed out to these students for all their hard work.

Jacob Taber said, “It’s a real honor to be chosen to be student of the month.”

And what an honor it is to be picked out of your whole team, in the 3rd month of school. To have the best behavior all the time, and being one of the best students on your team is a huge honor.

Student Council is in charge of recognizing the students of the month. Cole Steinmetz said, “Basically we plan and work out the parties and everything for the students of the month. We also display them on the board in the front of the school.”  So most of the school will know if you were chosen, and maybe even be a bit envious! Also a lot of people are involved in making everything possible so it’s a big deal to LJHS.

Kristin Lonsdale said, “It makes me feel like I did something right. It’s so nice to be appreciated.” Kudos to Kristin for being picked, it’s good to do the right things in school, and be rewarded for it. Thanks to Kristin she’s setting good examples, and is getting good grades; maybe she does some of the things listed below:

Always be on time,

Have a good attitude,

Participate-raise your hand: try doing that every other day,

Come prepared,

Occasionally talk to your teacher: maybe even about things outside of school,

Be friendly to other classmates;

Do your homework and turn it in on time,

Ask questions when you have them.

These are things you can do to get a shot at being the student of the month. Remember if you want to be student of the month you have to do these things consistently. It’s going to pay off.  Your grades will go up and your teachers will have a positive image of you as a student. If you are on team 8B, 9B, 8C, or 9C you still have a chance to be chosen to be student of the month for your team. Impress your teachers, and yourself, it always pays off to be a good student! Best of luck!
