2011 was a great year for all types of movies. We had the last ever Harry Potter, chick-flicks like Bridesmaids, macho movies like X-Men, and everything in between.
Whether or not the premier of the Twilight saga’s Breaking Dawn part one should go into 2011 best movies is debatable. But part two, coming out in November, is a highly anticipated movie. Having the last few moments of part one leaving you guessing, guarantees a crowd of girls at the mid-night premiere of part two.
Emmy Gregory says that she plans to go to the premier. “The first and second movies really sucked, but they’re getting better. The last movie ended with Jacob imprinting on Renesme and I can’t wait to see Bella’s reaction.”
If you’re more of a scary movie person you’ll be excited to hear that Paranormal Activity Four is coming out in October 2012. If you prefer the Action genre, the movie Safe House is coming out in February, and if you’re searching for a classic then Men In Black three is coming out in May. A few others are that you may want to watch for are Think Like A Man (March), Scary Movie five (April), Madagascar three: Europe’s most wanted (June), Ice age: Continental drift (July), Step Up four (July) and Ouija (November).
There is a movie that most Liberty Legends are especially anticipating coming out in March: The Hunger Games. This movie is based on the first book in the trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Starring Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, Liam Hemsworth as Gale, and Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, keep your fingers crossed that the movie is half as good as the book. It’s the story of sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem, which is where the countries of North America once existed. In the book, the Hunger Games are an annual televised event where the Capitol (the government) chooses one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of 12 districts for a massive televised battle in which only one person can survive.
Jessica McCartney and Mikayla Gascich are both counting the down the days until the Hunger Games movie comes out. McCartney says “I read the entire series in five days; it’s the kind of series you can’t put down. I hope the movie lives up to every ones expectations.”
Gascich says “I haven’t read the books yet, but by the way people are talking about it and the movies trailers I think it’s going to be awesome!”
Eric Morales is currently in the middle of book two. “I really like the series, it’s kind of long but it’s interesting, I’ve never read anything like it before. If the movie is anything like the book, it should be awesome.”
What movies are you most excited to see on the big screen? There are a lot of good options awaiting us in 2012. We will see which ones go big and which ones flop. So grab some popcorn and hit the theatres!
